  9. When ordering, print this page on your printer.  Circle or mark what you are
  10. paying for and send it in with your order.

  16. and be negotiable at a USA bank or post office.

  21. When registering, include the Serial Number of the Uedit you are using.  Get
  22. the serial number by selecting Show Vals in the menu.

  25.     A.  $47 + $3 shipping, printed user reference manual.
  26.     B.  $44, user reference manual on disk.
  27.     C.  $25, introductory, has command language doc.

  29. Registration includes:
  30.     * the fully customizable Uedit.
  31.     * documentation, according to A/B/C above.
  32.     * ready to use environment, and source configuration files.
  33.     * tutorial, help, and teach keys facilities.
  34.     * automatic notice of upgrades.
  35.     * registered user Serial Number.
  36.     * shareware version to distribute with your s/n in it.
  37.     * $15 commissions when others register submitting your s/n.

  39. Options for registered users:
  40.     * complete User Reference Manual on disk, $19.
  41.     * printed, bound User Reference Manual, $22 + $3 shipping.
  42.     * spell-checking Uedit & dictionary utilities, $15.
  43.     * Quarterly Newsletter for one year, $12.

  45.     * Uedit shareware disk, $15.
  46.     * special UEK program for hardcore users, $19.

  49. As a registered user, you will earn a commission when somebody submits your
  50. serial number when registering.  (Option C registrations earn half a
  51. commission.)

  53. Refresh Policy:  If you own the current upgrade, you are encouraged to ask
  54. for a "refresh" 6 to 8 weeks after you received the upgrade, so that you will
  55. have the final, fixed, improved release.  No new upgrade is perfect on the
  56. first release.  You can get a "refresh" anytime by sending $3 or your Uedit
  57. disk and sase.

  59. Extras disk:  It has configs and emulations written by users.  Emulations
  60. include Ustar by Kurt Wessels, VI by Eric Kennedy, and EDT by Kent McPherson.
  61. These emulate WordStar (tm), the Unix vi (tm) editor, and the DEC Gold Key
  62. (tm) editor.

  65.                                Sharing Uedit
  66.  
  67. You can give people a copy of the Shareware Uedit.  When you give away
  68. copies, you must observe the following restrictions:
  69.  
  70. ***  You must distribute ALL of Uedit's Shareware files together.
  71.      These are in the Shareware directory of the Uedit disk.
  72.  
  73. ***  You must NOT MODIFY any of those files except for putting your serial
  74.      number into UES.
  75.  
  76. ***  You must NOT distribute copies of UE or the printed or disk Manual or
  77.      Uedit's command language documentation or spell-checking materials.  You
  78.      may distribute ONLY the Shareware directory and must NOT distribute any
  79.      file that is in the Private directories.

  81. *** You MUST use Uedit COPYRIGHT notices on Uedit files.

  83. *** You MUST use Uedit TRADEMARK notices on "Uedit".

  85. You may include your own files along with Uedit, put files on several
  86. diskettes, distribute files via modem, or compress files, as long as their
  87. contents remain unchanged.

  89. You may print, copy, and distribute the Help! and other text files in the
  90. Shareware directory.

  92. Please encourage others to try Uedit.  In distributing it and encouraging new
  93. registrations, you will be supporting good programming for Amiga Shareware.

  95. And your feedback is important too.  Most of the improvements in Uedit since
  96. the beginning have been in response to feedback from its users.

  99.                             Revision Numbering
  100.  
  101. When a new version comes out, the old version number is incremented by 0.1. 
  102. Thus, if the current version is V2.4a, the next true upgrade will be V2.5a.
  103.  
  104. When bugs are fixed in a version, the release letter is incremented.  Thus if
  105. 2.4a has bugs, the fixed release is 2.4b.

  107. If you own a version such as V2.4a and bugs are found in it and a V2.4b is
  108. released, you may get V2.4b by sending in $3 or your V2.4a diskette, a self
  109. addressed mailer, and postage.

  112.                             About Shareware
  113.  
  114. Shareware is a generous, trusting concept which treats you like an honest
  115. person, rather than presuming that you are not, as, for instance, copy
  116. protection does.
  117.  
  118. Successful shareware programs have got to be superior, because you get to try
  119. them out thoroughly at home or in the office before buying them.  Many
  120. commercial programs would not survive this acid test.
  121.  
  122. You are allowed to try out a Shareware program for as long as you require, in
  123. order to decide whether you are going to use it or not.
  124.  
  125. When "trying" becomes "using", you are obliged to buy the program.
  126.  
  127. Only then does the Shareware author get paid for his work and expenses for
  128. creating and supporting the program you are using.

  131.         * Your honesty.
  132.         * Your cooperation in safeguarding Uedit by not distributing its
  133.           private files.
